I have been enthralled by the entire Mueller investigation from the beginning – from a legal, and not necessarily a political, perspective. So when I heard that Mueller would be giving a press conference, I naturally tuned in. Even since having read and broken down the Mueller report, I had a question which was compounded by something Mueller said during his presser… Why does the OLC memo on “not being able to indict a sitting president” only apply to Part II of the Mueller report on obstruction? Here are my thoughts and breakdown on the entire situation in light of the now infamous statement Mueller made during his press conference – “Charging the President with a crime was, therefore, no an option we could consider”.
